Around 8.04 lakhs students from Tamil Nadu and Union Territory of Puducherry will be appearing for this year Plus Two examinations, beginning on March 1.
A total of 8,04,535 students from 5769 Higher Secondary Schools, comprising 3,73,788 boys and 4, 30, 746 girls will be taking the examination from 2020 different centers.
The examinations will last till March 27.
In Chennai alone a total of 51,531 from 406 schools will write the examination from 140 different centers. In Puducherry a total of 12611 students, including 6919 girls will appear for the examinations from 30 different centers.
Beyond this, 48786 private students are going to appear for the examination.
According to the Chief Education Officer, strict discipline methods have been enforced. Flying squads consisting of more than 4000 persons will supervise the ongoing of the examination.
Earlier, District Educational Officer supervised all the examination centers. He also made a thorough inspection of these centers to see the students appear in the examination without any difficulty.
Posting of Armed Reserve Police at important points to keep vigilance at the examination centers and also see no untoward incidents taking place. The police will be posted to keep round-the-clock vigil at the places where the answer sheets will be kept.
