No prospects of the low-pressure zone to transform into a cyclone

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are o prospects of the recently formed low-pressure zone over the Bay of Bengal to transform into a cyclone.

The director of the Chennai Meteorological Centre Balachandran explained in this regard that the low-pressure zone, which recently formed over the southwest Bay of Bengal, is prevailing to stay in that zone over the southwest Bay of Bengal. This is likely to drift towards West to Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and stabilize over there. There are prospects that at this new location, the low-pressure zone may transform into a depression zone in the next 24 hours.

There are prospects of widespread rains in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. There are prospects of very heavy rains in a few places and heavy rain in a few other places. There are prospects of heavy rain in the districts of Kanchipuram, Puducherry, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Thiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Karaikkal, Thiruvarur, Thanjavur, Ariyalur, and Pudhukkottai.

In the last 24 hours, there have been widespread rains in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

As regards the Chennai Metro city and its suburbs, there are prospects of intermittent rains, There are also prospects of rain with thunder.

The fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea today and tomorrow in the southwest Bay of Bengal.
