Curry Leaves Powder Recipe

Here are the step-by-step instructions to prepare Karuveppilai Podi (Curry Leaves Powder) at your home.

Ingredients:

  • Curry leaves - 3 Handful
  • Urad dal - 100 gram
  • Red Chilli - 8
  • Hing - pinch
  • Salt - as needed
  • Oil - 3 tsp

Method:

  1. Wash Curry leaves well and spread the washed curry leaves in a towel and dry it for 5-6 hrs.
  2. Heat kadai with 1 tsp of oil, add Urad dal, roast until dal turns golden brown, keep aside.
  3. Heat kadai with 1 tsp of oil, add Red chillies, roast for a minute, keep aside.
  4. Again heat kadai with 1 tsp of oil, add curry leaves, roast curry leaves on low flame.
  5. Roast till curry leaves turn crunchy.
  6. Dry grind everything together with hing and needed salt.
  7. Store it in an air tight container, 
  8. Serve this with hot rice and ghee.

Note: Oil is optional, You can dry roast all the ingredients without oil.
