The state minister for Tamil Hindu Religious Endowment Department, Sevur S. Ramachandran, announced that the event of Annadhanam will be performed only in 7 places during the famous Thiruvannamalai Lord Arunachaleswarar Temple Deepam festival.
The famous Thiruvannamalai Sri Arunachaleswarar Temple Deepam festival is set to commence on 14th December with the ceremony of hoisting the holy flag for the festival.
The most prominent events of the lightings of the Bharani Deepam and Maha Deepam is scheduled to be performed on 23rd November.
A review meeting regarding the preparatory activities to be performed for the Deepam Festival was conducted on last Friday.
Bharani Deepam to be in the sanctum sanctorum of the main deity at 4.00 AM. Only 4000 devotees will be permitted, Similarly, for the Maha Deepam, 10000 devotees will be allowed inside the temple.
For this special occasion, 16 temporary bus stops have been set up. 2650 buses will be operated from Tiruvannamalai and also an additional 500 special buses will be operated from the neighbouring places.
Temporary parking stations will be set up at 77 places for cars and 2-wheelers.
60 special buses will be operated to take the devotees to the temple from the above temporary bus stops to the temple free of charge. Safety rooms for keeping items will be set up at 2 places in the Anna Entrance Arch and the Central Bus Station. Annadhanam will be conducted in 7 places.
