TTD (Tirumalai Tirupathi Devasthanam Board) has announced that the usual Darshans offered for the senior citizens and the parents of children below 5 years of age are cancelled during the month of December.
The system of offering Darshan of Lord Venkateswara twice a week for the devotees who are senior citizens or the parents of children below 5 years of age whenever the crowd of devotees is less has been followed by TTD.
Accordingly, TTD permitted the senior citizens and parents of children below 5 years of age Darshan via the Supadham route from 9.00 AM to 1.00 PM twice a week.
In this situation, there are a number of important sacred festivals falling in the month of December such as Vaikunta Ekadasi, Vaikunta Dwadasi, The English New Year, and the festivals during the sacred Tamil calendar month of Margazhi. Accordingly, large crowds of devotees are expected to visit Tirupathi on these occasions. Hence TTD has come up with the above cancellation of Darshan offered twice a week for the senior citizens and parents of children below 5 years of age.
TTD has also decided to conduct an auction of the clothes donated by devotees to the temples under the administration of TTD on 13th December online on the internet.
The auctioned clothe items include polyester and cotton dhothis and other dress materials, clothes used for hundis, blouses, items like shawls worn as an upper cover, lungis, bedspreads, pillow covers, Punjabi dress items, floor carpets, and curtain materials.
