Kara Dosai Recipe

Kara Dosai, easy breakfast recipe which takes very less time and turns out very tasty.

Ingredients

  • Idli Rice - 200 g
  • Raw rice - 2 tbsp
  • Urad dal - 1 tbsp
  • Coriander seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Fennel seeds - 1 tsp (optional)
  • Red chilli - 4
  • Coconut grated - 4 tbsp
  • Tamarind - small piece
  • Salt - as needed
  • Oil - to prepare dosa
Method 

  • Wash and Soak both the Rice and Urad dal together for 2 hrs, you can soak with warm water, dosa will be soft.
  • After 2 to 3 hrs, drain the water from rice,
  • Then grind the Rice, Urad dal, Coriander seeds, Cumin seeds, Fennel seeds, Red chilli, Tamarind and coconut together, adding required water and salt to it.
  • Grind it to a smooth Dosa batter consistency.
  • Now the batter is ready to prepare dosa. (Don’t need to ferment)
  • You can add chopped onion, Coariander leaves and grated carrot to this batter.(optional) 
  • Serve with any Chutney or thick Curd.
