There is going to be a red-carpet welcome for the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalaithaa on March 9 in Thanjavur, for the delta farmers are totally relieved from the worries of release of Cauvery water from Karnataka to Tamil Nadu for cultivation.

The TN Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa, during her assembly election campaign took place in Thanjavur, Kumbakonam and Thiruvarur promised that she would fight for the Cauvery Tribunal`s Final Order Notification to be notified in the Government Gazette. This she took it as a challenge though there had been opposition from the Karnataka counterparts. The political parties in Karnataka differed with each other, they stood unitedly in opposing the notifying the final order.

Hence, the farmers in the district want to felicitate the CM and the date for the function was fixed on March 7 but changed to March 9.

Because, the tribunal final order wass notified in the gazette, it had become obligatory or mandatory on the part of the Karnataka government to release water every year as agreed upon.

The meeting also discussed the assignments to be given to each and every department official in welcoming the CM. It also discussed to install CCTVs at important places when the meeting is going on and also to monitor it from a different place by police officials. Providing of good drinking water and construction of temporary urinals and toilets for the public were also discussed.
