The Hoffmann Group has once again won the German Design Award. The GARANT ToolCar roller cabinet from the GridLine series and the GARANT magnet measuring stand were declared winners of the “Workshop and Tools” category. The GARANT cross-cut saw with cross ground also received a “Special Mention”. All three products impressed the international jury with a sophisticated design that combines functionality and aesthetics equally. The GARANT ToolCar and the GARANT magnet measuring stand won the iF DESIGN Award at the start of 2018. The GARANT ToolCar also won the Red Dot Award.
According to the jury, the GARANT ToolCar from the new GridLine series features a modern, robust design that goes hand in hand with a high level of functionality. The different modules allow users to create a set-up tailored to their needs – an optional power supply with Schuko sockets delivers electricity for power tools and illumination; protectors shield trolleys and components from damage; perforated panels and LED lamps allow this product to be used as a versatile work station. An ergonomic 2-component handle allows the ToolCar to be moved easily and quickly from place to place, and a central locking system reliably interlocks the drawers and side compartments.
A formal and functionally tidy design is also what made the hydraulic GARANT magnet measuring stand a winner. The product, designed for holding and positioning dial indicators and lever dial indicators, features a hydraulic central lock as well as a rubberised handwheel for even fixing of all joints. According to the jury, its striking design imparts a professional, high-quality and modern appearance that amply fulfils expectations of precision and quality, while running smoothly and comfortably during operation.
The GARANT cross-cut saw was the third product to win the German Design Award 2019. The compact folding saw impressed the jury with its ergonomic 2-component handle which fits firmly and securely in the hand, allowing for optimal torque transmission. The different adjustable saw blade angles were also assessed as “very good”. The cross-cut saw with trapezoidal teeth positioning has a resistant thin layer coating to dramatically reduce friction and sawdust adhesion. This makes the saw especially suitable for quick, straight cuts.
The German Design Award along with the Red Dot and the iF Award are among the most prestigious design competitions in the world and are highly regarded within specialist circles. The German Design Award is bestowed by the German Design Council, the expert for brands and design in Germany. The Council was established as a foundation in 1953 on the initiative of the German Bundestag (German national parliament), and ever since then it has supported industry in consistently generating added brand value through design. As a result, the German Design Council is one of the world`s leading centres of expertise for communication and brand management in the field of design. In addition to trade associations and institutions, the exclusive network of foundation members also includes brand directors from renowned companies.
