The level of crowds of devotees visiting Tirupathi temple to have the Darshan of the favourite Lord Venkateswara has reached such unmanageable proportions with the staff inside the sanctum sanctorum keep shouting ‘Jarugandi – Jarugandi’ to one and all irrespective of the age, especially the senior citizens, pushing and jostling the crowd to exit! The time has now arrived who these staff will push now!!
It has been announced that all senior citizens above the age of 65 years can have free Darshan of the Lord Venkateswara.
The arrangement is the this free Darshan will permit up to 700 senior citizens every day! Here are the conditions as imposed by TTD:
- Aadhar card mandatory
- The devotee must be above 65 years of age
- The citizen/devotee must report at the indicated location by 8.00AM.
- The Darshan time is between 10.00 AM and 3.00 PM.
- 700 senior citizens will be allowed every day.
- Helper – a second person accompany this senior citizen as a help. They also must possess Aadhar cards. The breakfast and milk will be given free.
- 4 Laddus will be given to them at a price of Rs. 70/
- A devotee, completing one visit cannot undertake another visit until after 3 months only when they will be allowed for free Darshan.
- All the above services are free of charge.
