Final Voters List to be released on 21st January

The final voters list in the state of Tamil Nadu is set to be released on 21st January. The task of correcting the voters’ list was taken up from 3rd September to 31st October.
Applications were received during these 2 months to make corrections such as addition/deletion of names, correcting the names, and entering the change of address.
Earlier, it had been scheduled to release the final voters’ list yesterday (Friday, 4th January) after scrutinising/verifying the corrections made.
However, the districts affected by the cyclone Gaja had requested an extension of time. This schedule could not be carried out.
The Tamil Nadu Chief Election Commissioner Satyaprada Sahu has announced that the final voters’ list in Tamil Nadu state except Thiruvarur district will be released on 21st January.
