Global Investors Meet would take place in Chennai in the month of January 2019. It is revealed that the roads belonging to the city of Chennai would get a facelift due to this meet. Repair works of broken bus shelters, potholed roads, road medians, replacement of missing signage would be carried out by the civic body and the above mentioned upcoming investors meet has rejuvenated the civic body now. The venue for this Global Investors Meet would be the famous Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam is known.
The important piece of news gathered was the infrastructural improvement work estimated at Rs 90 lakhs has started in the areas around and in the roads connecting to Chennai Trade Centre in Nandambakkam. Interesting point here is the roads would be covered by thermoplastic paint and it would be superb. An amount of Rs 10.17 crores would be spent for the work and this was as per the state government. The works would be centered in places like Kotturpuram, Guindy, Nandambakkam, MRC Nagar, Egmore, Central and Gopalapuram etc.
For the improvement work on the bus routes and electrical works, the civic body is bearing Rs 90 lakhs from its exchequer. Officials explained about planting of shrubs and improving medians on all the roads leading to the venue so that the roads would look beautiful. An amount of Rs 1.62 crores is being spent on this. It is worth mentioning that in the premises of Indian Drugs and Pharmaceutical Ltd or IDPL cleaning out undergrowth and shrubbery is done so that separate parking of more than 6000 two and four wheelers could be set up.
It is in the Alandur zone the venue for this forthcoming meet would be held and the work at this zone alone would cost an amount of Rs7 crores. At a cost of amount of Rs 48.48 lakhs, mobile toilets with housekeeping staffs would be deployed near the venue. It is now brought out that on 12th January the tender would be floated. Information collected was Greenways Road, Gandhi Mandapam Road, DGS Dinakaran Salai, Mount Road near Guindy and Jawaharlal Nehru Salai are some of the roads that are getting facelift.
