Police nab ganja smugglers

Chennai police have nabbed a gang of ganja smugglers and arrested them on Wednesday. Sriram, Kalaimaran and Sathish were caught by the force and they have given names of others after a round of questioning.
The men would procure the marijuana from Andhra Pradesh and pack them in gunny bags which they carried in trains back to Chennai. Just before reaching Chennai Central they would throw out the bags on the tracks and come back later to collect them.
Speaking to the press, Additonal Deputy Commissioner S. Jayakumar said, They have been packing the contraband in sachets and selling them at 30 to 50. They sold the drug to college students mainly in north Chennai and had a group of regular customers. They have been doing this for more than six months.
