Election Commission announces no elections for 3 Assembly Constituencies in Tamil Nadu

A case was filed in the Supreme Court on behalf of DMK that the elections for the 3 Legislative Assembly Constituencies of Thirupparankundram, Aravakurichi, and Oddapidaram must be held immediately. This petition was taken up for enquiry. He Election Commission explained that the elections cannot be held immediately in these 3 constituencies and can be conducted only at the appropriate time.
It was argued on behalf of DMK that the assembly election for the above constituencies can be conducted even after 18th April as a by-election. The Supreme Court heard both the parties and accepted the explanation of the Election Commission. Further, the Supreme Court informed that it cannot order the Election Commission to conduct this election immediately.
