It has been announced that the Income Tax offices will function full day today (Saturday, 30th March) and tomorrow (Sunday, 31st March).
In a notification released by the Additional Commissioner, R. Ilavarasi, it is mentioned:
‘The last date for filing the Income Tax Returns for the financial year 2017-18 is tomorrow, 31st March. In order to facilitate the Income Taxpayers to file their IT returns, all the Income Tax Offices in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will function today (30th March, Saturday) and tomorrow (31st March, Sunday) as usual regular timings. So, those who have not filed their IT returns so far, can avail this last 2 days’ opportunity can file their Income Tax returns on these 2 days.’
The property/asset registrar offices and private companies follow the routine of carrying out property transactions towards the end of the financial year.
As the dates of 30th and 31st March for this financial year end occur on Saturday and Sunday, there were difficulties encountered for carrying out the property/asset transactions. So, It has been announced that all the Registrar Offices will function today (Saturday, 30th March) on normal timings to facilitate the above assets/property transfer. However, as the registration is being facilitated on a holiday, the Department of Registration has informed that an additional charge of Rs. 200 will need to be paid for all registrations done today.
