4G Services have commenced for the customers on behalf of BSNL telecom services.
The Chief General Manager of BSNL, S. M. Kalavathy inaugurated the 4G network facility o behalf of BSNL, Chennai yesterday (Saturday, 30th March).
Presently, 4G services are functioning in the areas Theviriyambakkam, Karunguzhi, P V Kalathur, Palur, Rajkulam, Govindawadi, Magaralpakkam, and Pullarambakkam.
The 4G service facility will be gradually introduced in other areas – it will be extended to 100 places before the end of next month to Kanchipuram, Thiruvalluer, Tirythani, and Chingleput.
Further, 2000 landline connections operated from the BSNL Telephone Exchange located in the New Military Road has been upgraded to the next generation network level. In the 1st and 2nd Phase of this activity, 55000 landline connections were upgraded. In the 3rd Phase, 3.40 Lakhs Landline connections and 1.29 Lakhs broadband services connections will be upgraded within the next 4 to 6 months.
With this newly upgraded facility, broadband connections/services will be available at 20 MBPS according to the latest report released by BSNL.
