The counselling sessions for admission to the postgraduate medical courses concluded yesterday (Thursday, 4th April). This year 999 candidates have been given admissions during the counselling for the postgraduate medical courses.
Out of this 882 candidates have been offered admission in the government medical colleges. 117 candidates have been given admission in the private medical colleges.
The counselling for the postgraduate medical courses M. D., and M. S. in the government and private medical colleges in Tamil Nadu commenced on 1st April (Monday) at the Chennai Omandhurar Multi-speciality hospital.
On the 1st day of counselling, 283 candidates got admission in government medical colleges. 7 candidates got admission in private medical colleges for a total of 290 candidates admitted.
On the 2nd day of counselling, a total of 442 candidates were given admission. On the 3rd day, 165 candidates received admission.
The Directorate of the Medical Education informed that 122 seats were filled on the final day, Thursday, 4th April.
Following the conclusion of the above counselling sessions, the Directorate of Medical Education has planned to conduct the counselling session for admission to the postgraduate medical courses in dentistry (M.D. S. – Master of Dental Surgery, MD, and MS) in the government and private dental colleges in Tamil Nadu as per the government quota.
