Plan to issue voter IDs to the new voters within 1 or 2 days

The officials of the Election Commission informed that the new voter IDs for the voters inducted in the voters list in the 16 Legislative Assembly Constituencies for 62000 voters will be distributed within 1 or 2 days.
Due to the parliamentary election and the by-election for some Legislative Assembly constituencies, the task of including new voters was taken up in January. In this, 106651 new voters had applied for voter IDs in the 16 Legislative Assembly Constituencies covering 3 parliamentary constituencies.
As per this, 62000 new voters have been added. The total voter number in Chennai districts has increased to 38.50 Lakhs.
For the new voters added till October 2018, new voter IDs have been given. For the new voters added recently, the voter IDs will be are expected in 1 or 2 days and will be immediately distributed.
