Two more units sanctioned for Kudankalam

The Union Government has sanctioned two more units of 1000 MW each for the Kudankalam Nuclear Power Plant in Tirunelveli district. The Cabinet Committee has sanctioned administrative and financial sanctions for the units 3 & 4at the site. The Committee was chaired by the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
However the commissioning of the existing units has been delayed once more and may be commissioned only in May. The operation of the two units was to start by then. The project is a collaboration between India and Russia.
