Colleges to open Tomorrow

The Tamil Nadu government has announced that all colleges will be reopened on March 25th. Colleges and other institutions of higher education were closed indefinitely after students starting protesting all over the State.
Initially, students of Loyola College staged a fast unto death about a fortnight ago. They were urging the Centre to vote against Sri Lanka in the US led resolution in the UN to probe war crimes against civilians during its civil war with the LTTE. Soon, students of colleges and universities all over Tamil Nadu followed suit. In Chennai, sit ins were held at Tholkappiya Poonga, Raj Bhavan and Marina among other places. Even apolitical institutions like IIT joined the protest.
