The SSLC examinations in Tamil Nadu will begin on March 27th. A concern for the examinees is the Mathematics paper which will have a new format and a set of questions that will be different from the previous years. The examination is scheduled for the 5th of April.
The State Education Department has sent a circular to all schools stating that Section A of the paper will have 15 one mark questions that will be out of the textbook. Section B contains the questions that are 2 marks each. The circular said that Question 30 will be out of the book. Earlier, it was a ‘creative question’, but to make up for its, two other questions from Q. 16 to Q 29 will be ‘creative’. Similarly, Section C’s Question 40 which was originally a ‘creative’ question will be from the book and two others in the section will be ‘creative’. Earlier, subjects such as algebra and coordinates had ‘creative’ questions, but it will now cover all the topics.
Many feel that the new format of question paper will help students score better this time.
