Teeming crowds at the jewellery shops on Akshaya Tritiya today!

Today (Tuesday, 7th May) being the day of Akshaya Trithiya, there are teeming crowds in all the jewellery shops all over Chennai Metro City!
The 3rd day of the growing phase of the moon after the New Moon Day in the Tamil calendar month of Chitharai is traditionally celebrated as Kashaya Trithiyai.
There is an age-old and strong faith that that buying jewellery items today will bring prosperity to the house!
As per the tradition, the people buy gold or silver jewellery items as they can afford. In this situation, most of the jewellery shops were open by the early morning at 6.00 AM!
Just as per tradition, with the teeming crowds at all jewellery shops, it is expected that Akshaya Tritiya this year also will account for substantial sales of jewellery items!
