Collaboration between pharma company and Pondy Govt

Abbot, an international healthcare company, has signed a memorandum with the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Puducherry to implement an integrated health management system. Puducherry’s Chief Minister N.Rangaswamy witnessed the signing. The partnership is for three years.
The project will look into implementing healthcare systems for non-communicable diseases, Cholesterol related disorders and thyroid related disorders. Diseases like diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidemia will be part of the non-communicable diseases.
While the Government will provide the infrastructure, permissions and logistics, Abbot will provide the diagnostics, patient awareness material and diet guidance camps. They will also offer continued medical education that will help build up the skills of healthcare professionals.
