It is known that there are number of owners of individual plots who have not produced documents for regularization of plots in many cities like Chennai etc. To help the applicants to get the approval quickly, the state government is planning to take initiatives.
On Monday, 10th June 2019, a meeting took place to review the regularization scheme of layouts and plots. It was found that a large number of people have not applied with the relevant documents.
An official explained about how their department want to encourage more individuals who own plots. To get the documents for regularization, the local bodies would send emails to the individual plot owners soon. He hinted that the manpower would be increased and the plot regularization process would be simplified.
For the regularization scheme, as many as 62,683 unapproved layouts and 27.69 individual plots have been identified in TN and just 2.29 lakh individual plot owners have got approval. An official expressed his unhappiness regarding documents not produced to the local body concerned. The point is out of 15 lakh individual applications received most people have not produced documents.
The official later hinted about how the process of regularization would be made simple for the sake of more plot owners. He also mentioned about the need for creating awareness in individual plot owners. He then explained about how the window has been kept opened for the individual plot owners. Finally the official highlighted about relevant documents not being filed by those who have applied electronically.
According to Mr. P.S.J. Palani Rajan, president of GCC Licensed Surveyors Association, many individual plot owners have not received approval for regularization due to issues with the no-objection certificate from TNHB, PWD and AAI.
In places like Valasarawakkam and Ramapuram, 1000 plot owners were not able to get approval because of delay in getting NoC from TNHB. No objection certificate from PWD was asked for Pallikaranai plot owners. An official then spoke about how over 17 lakh applications were expected in TN and how in CMA 3 lakh applications were expected. He concluded that 50 percent of applications were approved out of the total 85,000.
