The students these days do not show much interest in studying dental course or BDS. On Wednesday, 17th July 2019, just 253 candidates attended the counselling out of total of 1660 candidates. It must be noted that at the end of the session as many as 757 seats were available in the self financing dental colleges. It is known that there are still 2 days to go for the first phase of counselling.
The important information gathered is in this year just one student belonging to government school and one from aided school in TN have secured admission to medical college. Point is a student who passed plus two in 2018 and cleared NEET in 2019 was given admission to MMC, Chennai on the first day of counselling for the TN state quota. On the 4th day of counselling, another girl student was allotted seat in Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Medical College and this student studied in an aided school.
The results of the second round of counselling for All India quota seats and seats in the deemed universities were declared by the Directorate General of Health Services on Wednesday.
Important piece of information is many students who have been allotted seats to colleges other than MMC Chennai have opted for an upgrade.
