It is a well-known fact that the Chennai Metro City residents have been facing an extremely acute drinking water scarcity over the last many months!

In this scenario, a latest statistical detail provides the interesting data that there has been an increase of 59% in the rains received since 1st June until today (30th July, Tuesday) as compared to the average expected rainfall!

It can be deemed that Mother Nature and Rain God Varuna Bhgavan have shown tremendous mercy on the Chennai Metro City and thus there has been a relatively copious rainfall with an increase by 59%!

It is noted that the average expected rainfall during this calendar period is only 155,7 mm. However, the Chennai Metro City, during this corresponding period, has received a copious rainfall of 247 mm!

Further, the Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects for further rains in the Chennai Metro City due the convective rain phenomenon!

If the weather and climate are conducive, there are prospects of rain for the next 2 days.

In case, all the rain received thus far had reached the ground water level, the same would have increased considerably. Whether it is possible to pump water from the pump sets in the residences, at least one thing is certain - the rains have not let us down in this period!
