The former central finance minister Arun Jaitley who was ailing and was being treated at AIIS (All India Institute of Medical Science), New Delhi, passed away today (Saturday, 24th August). He was 66 years old.
Arun Jaitley had bee n under treatment for a fairly long period due to multiple complaints and according to the information released from the hospital, he passed away without any improvement in health.
Arun Jaitley was admitted in AIIMS Delhi on 9th August due to multiple ill-health complaints including breathing problems. A team of doctors who were specialists in different branches was taking care of him continuously.
Aru Jaitely was kept in ICU (Intensive Care Unit) and was kept under artificial breathing equipment and was continuously monitored.
In this situation, Jaitely’s health conditioned worsened further yesterday (Friday, 23rd August) according to reports from the hospital. The latest news from the hospital is that he passed away today.
Jaitely was the Finance Minister in the BJP central government cabinet headed by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi from 2014 to 2019.
Even during this period, he suffered from frequent health complaints and had treatment both abroad and at AIIMS New Delhi.
Due to the main problem of ill-health, he did not contest in the recent parliamentary elections.
Admitted in AIIMS on 9th August, his condition deteriorated very much on Friday, 23rd August. He did not respond to the extended treatments and passed away.
