Electric bus services are all set to commence today (Tuesday, 27th August) in the Chennai Metro City! Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E. Palaniswamy will flag off the introduction of the electric buses service in the inauguration ceremony.
A German company, KFW will operate the electric bus services in Tamil Nadu State with the necessary financial assistance.
Ian announcement was made in this regard in the Legislative Assembly that during the 1st Phase of this introduction, 2 electric buses will operate on a test-basis in the Chennai Metro City.
In this scenario, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister will flag off the 1st batch of electric buses and inaugurate the event today (Tuesday, 27th August).
Information is gathered that the new electric bus will operate from Koyambedu Outstation Bus Terminus to Thiruvanmiyur. It is also mentioned that the buses would be pressed into service immediately after the inauguration by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.
Subsequently, the rules and regulations and the fixed fares for the travel in the electric bus will be implemented by the Tamil Nadu Transport Corporation.
