On Tuesday, 27th August 2019, the school education department organized an orientation programme for the teachers and students for the online coaching for NEET plus for other competitive examinations.

It is brought out that the online facility would be made available for the students in as many as in 6 centres in Chennai, 4 centres in Coimbatore and 4 centres in Erode. Important information is all the centres would be located in the schools. It must be noted that the classes would be meant for those students studying in the English medium sections of government and government aided schools only.

Founded in the year 2008 with headquarters in Kota in Rajasthan, Etoos India is an online coaching institute in India. This institute prepares students for many exams like AIIMS, AIPMT, IITJEE (main and advanced) etc. It is now said that the school education department has tied with this Etoos India.

According to a representative of Etoos India it is clear that the centres have been given access to their contents by means of user IDs and passwords. The students would be able to access the video lessons, tests and material plus the students could contact them when needed. It was later mentioned by a headmaster from Chennai that at the centre on his school campus, the students belonging to nearby government as well as government aided schools would be expected to attend the online coaching classes.

The head master then spoke about how information regarding the frequency of the online coaching classes was not received but he was hoping to have a minimum of three classes per week. He concluded that teachers belonging to these schools were expected to coordinate the classes and be present to answer the students about questions. Point is there is no clarity about when full- fledged coaching classes for the government and government aided students would start in this 2019.

A screening test was conducted by the school education department for selecting the students to attend the coaching is known. Information gathered is nearly 13,000 students belonging to the classes 11 and 12 were shortlisted for the coaching. This was confirmed by an official.

To prepare the students to take up NEET, every Friday tests are being conducted across all schools now. The official finally spoke about how the tests were of 240 marks and the question papers for the tests were prepared by a team of teachers and sent to all the schools every week.
