Additional car parking facility at Ennore Port

Chairman cum Managing Director of Ennore Port Ltd. (EPL) M.A. Bhaskarachar announced that an additional car parking facility that would have space to store 3,000 more cars will come up soon. The parking facility currently at the Port can accommodate 10,000 cars, another 2000 can be stored in the general cargo berth.
Cars from manufacturers such as Honda, Ashok Leyland, Toyota, Ford and Nissan are exported from the Port.
Speaking to the press, Mr. Bhaskarachar said, ‘The port ended the year with a gross revenue of Rs.307.01 crore against Rs.248.96 crore in the corresponding period last year and the pre-tax profit was Rs.218.65 crore (Rs.120.78 crore).
During the year under review, EPL handled 17.89 million tonnes (MT) of cargo against 14.96 MT for the corresponding period last year, marking an increase of 19.58 per cent. A target of 21 MT has been fixed for 2013-14.’
