An App - Voters Helpline Mobile App - was introduced a few months back to facilitate the voters make any required corrections on the personal data - addition/deletion/name spelling correction/change in date of birth/address, etc.
Now, the Chennai Metro Corporation is making an all-out effort to popularise this App among the public to facilitate faster correction of data to enable the release of the draft of the final voters list.
The Greater Chennai Corporation has requested the representatives of political parties to familiarise the Voter Helpline Mobile App among the voters, which was developed to make correction in the electoral list. It has requested all the political parties to help increase the awareness of this App among the public.
This request was made during a meeting with the representatives of the political parties. G. Prakash, Chennai Corporation Commissioner requested in the meeting that the members of the political parties should approach the residents in their locality to create awareness about the smartphone application,
The App facility would be available to make corrections until 30th September. Subsequently, the corrections made by the voters will be verified by the booth level officers (BLO) before releasing integrated draft roll, on October 15.
Apart from the smartphone application, differently-abled and senior citizen voters can make corrections by calling 1950, voter facilitation centers and e-Seva centers.
Voters should provide their EPIC number and valid ID proof to make the corrections.
