On Sunday, 22nd September, Chennai experienced morning that was cloudy, afternoon that was rainy and evening that was sunny.
Many places belonging to Chennai such as Anna Nagar, Arumbakkam, Mylapore, Thoraipakkam, Sholinganallur, Velachery and Mandaveli received rains. It must be noted that there was heavy inundation in some places for brief time period.
It has been predicted by the officials belonging to the meteorological department that Chennai city would get moderate rains for the next few days. Information collected is sky is likely to be cloudy and light to moderate rains is likely to occur in some places in Chennai.
Point to be noted is the maximum temperature would be around 33 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature would be around 25 degree Celsius. In the next 24 hours of time, many districts belonging to Tamil Nadu would be receiving heavy rains.
According to the officials belonging to the meteorological department, places such as Villupuram, Cuddalore, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Trichy, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Karur, Nagapattinam plus other places like Theni, Dindigul, Salem, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri could receive heavy rains.
It is important to mention that Thindivanam in Villupuram district and Watrap in Virudhunagar district recorded maximum rainfall of 7 cm. That was for a time period f 24 hours ending at 8:30 am on Sunday.
