It must be noted that on Monday the private conservancy operator had informed workers that Chennai Corporation has extended the contract period by 6 months. Information collected is the conservancy workers insisted on getting their PF and gratuity because many workers have been denied of PF and gratuity benefits. Point to be noted is each conservancy worker has to get more than Rs 1 lakh.

In the 3 zones of Teynampet, Adyar, and Kodambakkam, more than 3000 workers have been cleaning garbage. It was mentioned by a worker that at least 10,000 workers have not received their PF even after leaving their jobs in the last 7 years. In the 3 zones, 50% of bins were reduced by the corporation.
