It is known that in TN people visit their natives to be with their families and friends on the occasion of deepavali. It is now said that record number of passengers booked seats on government special buses that would be operated in the week of deepavali. Point is till now there is no announcement regarding special trains for the deepavail festival.

It is revealed that as many as 51,200 passengers have booked their seats in these special buses. By this, the state transport department made Rs 2.5 crores through reservations till now. The information is not even three forth of this was reported a week before deepavali in 2018.

Four months back, ticket counter was opened and tickets for south bound express trains like Pandian, Nellai, Pearl City expresses got sold out in less than 15 minutes of time. It is known that tatkal option opens only a day before the date of journey. It was later mentioned by a native of Coimbatore living in Mylapore that uncertainty of special trains has made those looking for affordable options to book government buses for deepavali.

It must not be forgotten that in 2018 deepavali was celebrated on 7th November but the announcement regarding special trains came out a month before itself on 4th October. The superb piece of information is the government has replaced many old buses with air-conditioned sleeper and seater coaches. It is brought out that travelling by these government buses would be better instead of travelling by private omni buses because Rs 2000 or more is collected as ticket fare in omni bsues.

Information is government announced that it would operate more than 19500 special buses during the deepavali week. Between 24th October and 26th October, as many as 10,940 buses would leave Chennai t various parts of TN.

From 23rd October, around 30 special reservation counters to book tickets for these buses would open at places like CMBT Koyambedu, Tambaram Sanatorium bus stand, Tambaram railway station, Madhavaram bus terminus and Poonamalle bus stand. It is worthy to mention that tickets could be booked online by using www.tnstc.in or www.redbus.in,  www.paytm.com and www.busindia.com websites.
