For the number of queries for overseas education, Chennai city ranks second

Indian students aim very high these days and many of them want to do higher studies in many foreign countries. This has been proved to be true by a study conducted by Sulekha recently.

Sulekha, one of the leading tech- AI platforms for expert services conducted a study and it has been found that Chennai city is number two in the number of queries for the overseas admission.

It must be taken into account that the city of Hyderabad is number one with as many as 8171 requests and is followed by Chennai with 5013 requests. Third is Delhi with 4694 requests. Courses such as engineering, medicine, MBA, journalism, hotel management and aviation etc garnered maximum queries from the aspiring students.

The superb information is the highest number of requests has been received for Canada (19849 requests). In the second place is Germany with 12.979 requests followed by USA with 11961 requests. Point to be noted is from September 2018 to August 2019 as many as 7127 queries were received from TN alone.

It was later pointed out by Mr. Satya Prabhakar, founder and CEO, Sulekha, that the study shows that the number of Indian aspirants looking to pursue higher education has been increasing every year by around 20%.

There haves been visa restrictions imposed on the students in countries like UK and USA in the last few years. For this reason, the country of Canada has emerged as the most sought after destination for the students for overseas education. This was according to Mr. Satya Prabhakar. It must be noted that the study is based on the site visits across Indian cities n Sulekha in the last one year of time.

It has been revealed by the study that tier 1 cities contributed to 60% online search with 32000 requests and tier 2 and tier 3 cities have contributed to 11000 and 10000 requests respectively.

Admission season is from the month of September to the month of December and the queries peak at this time. The queries decrease in the month of February (examination time) and during major Indian festivals.
