BSNL Telephone No. Auction begins today

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) in Chennai is putting up nearly 20000 numbers up for auction. These are fancy or vanity numbers that will be up for bidding for BSNL landline subscribers in the city.
The numbers are in three Levels – Level 1 (base price Rs. 20000), Level 2 (base price Rs. 10000) and Level 3 (base price Rs. 5000). Interested bidders can register by paying a non refundable deposit of Rs. 100 online. The bidding amount will be in multiples of 100 over and above the base price.
The interesting bidder will need to log in on the BSNL website with his / her telephone number and then bid on his chosen number from the list available in his area.
