The hugely popular festival of Deepavali falls on 27th October to be celebrated in a grand manner throughout India. On this festive occasion, the state government of Tamil Nadu has released an announcement regarding the payment of bonus and ex-gratia to the state government employees.
The state government notification mentions:
The state government employees will be paid a bonus of 8.33% and an ex-gratia payment of 11.37%.
For the employees working in the profit-making state government undertakings, considering the extra payment along with the bonus and ex-gratia payment, 20% of the basic pay will be paid as a bonus.
Employees of TANGEDCO, Transport Corporations, Consumer Trading Corporations, and Cooperative Society employees will be paid a 20% bonus.
Employees of state government Rubber Corporation, Forest-garden Corporation and sugar mills will also be paid bonus.
The employees of profit-earned cooperative societies in the C and D category will be paid a bonus of 20% and the employees of the non-profit earning or loss-making cooperative societies will be paid a bonus of 10%.
Employees in the C and D category in the profit-earning drinking water department will be paid a bonus of 10% and the employees of Tamil Nadu Text Books Corporation, Housing Development Corporation, Academic Corporation, and Sewage water Corporation will be paid a bonus of 10%.
