Cyclonic storm Bulbul to form, rains to be back in TN on Saturday

For the past few days, most parts belonging to the state of TN has been experiencing dry weather.

The meteorological department has now revealed that from Saturday rainfall might be back again in TN. By the early hours of Thursday, deep depression over east-central and adjoining south-east Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm and by Friday it would further intensify into a severe cyclonic storm. The name of this cyclone is ‘Bulbul’.

The officials have mentioned that this cyclonic storm might not have a direct impact on TN as it is likely to move towards West Bengal and Bangladesh. It must be noted that in the last 24 hours ending at 8:30 am on Wednesday none of the weather stations in TN registered rainfall.

Under the influence of the weather system that exists in the Bay of Bengal, another trough is expected to form. This was according to Mr. Puviarasan, director, Area Cyclone Warning Centre, Chennai.

The information is this through might bring rainfall in TN and the smog conditions would be there for another 2 or 3 days in Chennai. He then mentioned that smog was a local phenomenon and it was not prevalent in other parts of TN. The point is smog covered Chennai only in the mornings.
