For the passengers to key in complaints about the maintenance of the rest rooms in the Chennai airport, AAI has installed digital kiosks now.  It is important to note that kiosks are placed near the toilets as the passengers complain about the maintenance of restrooms often.

As soon as the complaint or suggestion is keyed in, the terminal manager would get an alert on his system. For the sake of sending feedback to the airport authorities, the passengers now have 2 options. In the first option, traditional complaint boxes would be there and the passengers could deposit their feedback by filling the form. In the second option, the passengers could tap on the happy smiley or sad smiley based on their experience by using touch screen smiley kiosks.

The important point is smiley kiosks are inadequate as the passengers cannot elaborate their issues and complaints put in the boxes are not read immediately. The advantages of new kiosk is passenger problems would be identified and redressing would be done as fast as possible. Kiosks would also be installed at more locations at the airport. This was according to a senior official of AAI.  He added that the tenders would be called for installing kiosks at more locations once the system works well.

It is brought out that AAI has decided to set up new system because the passengers take to social media to complain about the poor maintenance of toilets, long queues at the security check and at the immigration counters, high cost and poor quality of foods etc.
