A special exhibition on the grand occasion of the Tamil calendar month Karthigai ‘Deepam’ festival is being organised by Poompuhar for the display and sales of traditional lamps including those made of brass.
This exhibition-cum-sales is conducted on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Handicraft Industry Development Corporation Limited, known as ‘Poompuhar’, at its showroom in Anna Salai, Chennai.
Exquisite handicraft lamps created using materials such as clay, brass, etc., are on display/sales.
Some of the items on display-cum-sales include:
- An 8’ tall Lakshmi lamp with branches
- 16 types of ‘Sodasa Upasaram’ (treating the guests) set
- Naga lamps of 18” to 72” height
- Lord Vinayakar
- Lakshmi Deepam
- 108 ‘Ashothra’ deepam
Further items such as Mangala Sangu-chakras deepam. Thoonda vilakku, thongu vilakku, panchalinga jothi, navagraha panchatchara Thirumalai deepams, etc., indeed feasts for the eys and purchase! They have been huge attractions for visitors.
10% discount is offered for all lamps.
The exhibition concludes on 10th December.
Visitors are allowed free from 10.00 AM to 8.00 PM daily.
