There is widespread rain prevailing in the state of Tamil Nadu. There were heavy rains in the districts of Madurai, Chennai, Coimbatore, Kanyakumari, Cuddalore, Pudhukkottai, Ramanathapuram, etc.
This heavy rain has substantially disturbed the traffic in many places.

Due to the very heavy rains last night in the Chennai Metro City, most of the roads are flooded. This has affected the traffic quite heavily.

The railway tracks in Thoothukkdi Railway Station were submerged in rainwater. So, the trains have been stopped at Melur Railway Station.
Traffic has been heavily affected in Virudhunagar as the roads have been heavily flooded.
Traffic has also been affected heavily in the Romapuri Salai between Cuddalore and Vadalur.
The excess water from the Kanyakumari district Pechippaarai dam has been opened out.
