This steam engine, ‘EIR21’, is the oldest in the country! It has 132 horsepower capacity! It was manufactured in the year 1855! It performed for the Indian Railway for 55 years and was retired in the year 1909 and subsequently shifted and placed in the Jamalpur Railway Museum! It was kept there for 101 years and then taken to Chennai for renovation. A coach was attached to this engine and just for the public display; this engine is operated once or twice a year.
