Waking up in the middle of the nights and not getting sleep again, these could be the reasons

Sometimes, during the night time, the sleep would not be continuous. The persons would be sleeping well and then suddenly wake up. It is true that waking up in the middle of the night often is annoying but not able to get back to sleep once again is infuriating. It is revealed that many have this issue of not getting sleep again after waking up in the middle of the night.

Various reasons that could prevent us from getting back to sleep after waking up are

The room might be a reason:

For superb sleep in the night time, the room must be dark, cool and quiet. Fact is the first stage of sleep is lightest and people get up easily at this time. The sleep could be prevented when the room is too hot or too cold or slamming of door or light from unknown source etc.

Anxiety issues:

Some persons would have anxiety-based issues in them and they would find it difficult to sleep in the night. It is believed that several anxiety issues like increasing heartbeat and nightmares could wake us. Nocturnal panic attacks could also result in waking up a person from a deep sleep.

Presence of overactive thyroid gland:

Functions of various organs are controlled by thyroid glands. Overactive thyroid glands could result in various issues such as increased heart rate, sweating in excess, trouble in sleeping, anxiety etc.

Restless leg syndrome or RLS:

In the night times, some persons experience uncomfortable sensations in their legs and irresistible urge to move their legs. This issue could also be due to deficiency of iron. By taking warm baths, RLS could be treated as it would calm down the muscles and good sleep would be got.

Sleep apnea:

Mostly sleep apnea occurs in adults and in old age persons and it could disturb the sleep. It is worthy to note that this disorder slows or stops breathing when we are asleep. Persons with this sleep apnea condition could use continuous positive airway pressure or CPAP machine to get good sleep. Obstructive sleep apnea is the most common type of sleep apnea is known.
