The School of Architecture was founded under the central government ministry of Human Welfare and Development with the main objective of ensuring high-quality Research and Education in the field of architecture.
The School of Architecture functions in 3 locations - Delhi, Bhopal, and Vijayawada.
Significance
The Department of Architecture was functioning under the Delhi Polytechnic College. This Department was approved by the Delhi University in the year 1955 and was merged with the School of Town and Country Planning. Subsequently, the name was changed as ‘School of Planning and Architecture’ (SPA).
It continued to function by participating in several important projects and research. As such, 2 more Schools of Planning and Architecture were founded in Bhopal and Vijayawada in the year 2008.
These Institutions have been founded by the Central Government serving to mee the needs of the country’s architecture and Building projects field, and to produce experts in this filed and it has continued functioning playing an important role in this field.
The SPAs are considered as the premier quality educational Institutions offering courses on Architecture and Planning.
