Please eat these foods to avoid vitamin B12 deficiency

Commonly known as cobalamine, vitamin B12 is a water soluble vitamin and is absorbed by our body easily. Vitamin B12 is very important for us and it would keep us fit and healthy.

It plays an important role in the production of red blood cells. In addition to this, vitamin B12 is also important for brain functioning, maintaining nerve health tissue and in the production of DNA and RNA.

It is worth mentioning here that cobalamine is found in many animal products. Those who consume only vegetarian foods need not worry because there are also many vegetarian foods available and these foods are rich in vitamin B12 or cobalamine.

Various health issues that are caused due to lack of this vitamin are cardiovascular disease, anaemia, dizziness, pale skin etc.

Foods that must be consumed so that we could avoid vitamin B12 deficiency are

Intake of sardines:

Sardines have rich amounts of vitamin B12 and intake of this food is important. These sardines could be purchased fresh r they could be canned. Not only sardines have vitamin B12 but also other nutrients like proteins, calcium, iron etc

Intake of eggs:

Eggs are rich in proteins plus vitamin B6 and B12 etc. Hence it is important to consume eggs. As eggs are cheap and versatile, we could make many dishes using eggs.

Intake of mozzarella:

It is important to mention that fresh mozzarella is usually white in colour but it might vary to slightly yellowish based on animal’s diet.  Easiest way to get vitamin B12 is by eating this mozzarella. It is a type of cheese made from buffalo’s milk.

Intake of nutritional yeast:

People who like plant based products prefer nutritional yeast that is rich in proteins, fibres and vitamins. Three forms of nutritional yeast that are available are flakes, powder and granules.
