Vallalar Memorial Day on 8th February - Liquor shops to remain closed!

A state government order has been released to keep all the liquor shops closed on 8th February on the occasion of ‘Vallalar Memorial Day’.
A notification released by the Chennai District Collector Seetha Lakshmi in this regard:
‘On the occasion of the Vallalar Memorial Day’ falling on 8th February (Saturday). Under the Tamil Nadu Liquor retail Sales shops and the Bars Act Rules, all the liquor shops in Chennai District - both retail shops and attached bars - and Bars in the clubs with FL2 Licence, Hotel attached bars with FL3 Licence and the Bars with FL3 (A) Licence must ALL REMAIN CLOSED.
Liquor must not be sold on this day. Any violation will result in stringent action being taken on the violators!
