Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission or TNPSC Group 4 exams in select centres had lots of malpractices is known. In order to prevent such types of malpractices, the TRB or Teachers Recruitment Board had decided to allot exam centres randomly to the candidates in the future examinations.

It is possible for the candidates to list cities where they prefer to appear for their exams and this is as per the present system. The majority of the candidates were allotted centres in one of the preferred locations.

Hereafter, the candidates would be intimated about the districts just 10 days before the exam and just 3 days before the exam they would know about their exam centres.

An official belonging to Teachers Recruitment Board spoke about how this new move would prevent malpractices that happened in the TNPSC Group-4 exams. He explained how the TRB has moved on to computer-based online test for the recruitment process. Maintaining the confidentiality of the examination process is important and TRB would also shuffle officials on examination duty.

On 14th, 15th and 16th February 2020, there would be block education officers recruitment test and the new system would come into effect from this exam.

Mr P. Rajalingam, state secretary, TET Qualified Graduate and Secondary Grade Teachers Association, expressed his concern regarding the feasibility of the new system that would come into effect soon. He added that it would be difficult to identify the examination centres if the candidates were allotted exam centres far away from their native places. Appearing for the examination would be difficult for the candidates.

Mr J. Robert, general secretary of Secondary Grade Seniority Teacher Association, brought out that the new system would be tough for woman candidates and for the differently able candidates etc though it might prevent malpractices. For transparency sake, some students demanded the board to release full details of selected candidates such as marks, caste and exam centres after the examination.

Brokers had asked the candidates involved in the scam to select 2 centres Rameswaram and Keelakarai in Ramanathapuram as exam centres for the TNPSC Group-4 examinations are known.
