Over the last few days, the model question papers for classes 10 and 12 are not available at the designated outlets in Chennai. This has worried many students as well as parents. To overcome this situation, the parents have urged the Tamil Nadu School Education department to restock at the earliest.
The state issues booklet containing model question papers every year and sells these at DPI and designated outlets set up in the government schools in each district.
Various places in Chennai city where the booklets are sold are Presidency Model Girls Higher Secondary School in Egmore, Jai Gopal Garodia School in Saidapet, Government Higher Secondary School in Arumbakkam and MCC School at Chetpet etc.
Normally, in November, these booklets get printed and distributed but this year there was a delay due to the fact that the syllabus was revamped. Only in January, these booklets were made available to the students.
A parent of a class 12 student revealed how she wanted to buy class 12 model question paper for her daughter and how she went to Government Higher Secondary School in Arumbakkam where booklet for just 2 subjects was available. She finally got the remaining booklets in Egmore.
It was later brought out by Mr Arumainathan, TN Students-Parents Welfare Association that many parents have called him and complained about the non-availability of model question paper booklet.
Directorate of Government examinations or DGE was responsible for this issue and this was as per Mr S. Kannappan, director of the school education department.
