Tamilnadu Government is going to file the Budget for 2020-21 today (14.02.2020, Friday).

Budget Allocations & Highlights:
  • 34,181.73 Crores are allocated for School education department.
  • In the cost of 77.94 crores in 53.36 acres there is going to be new Food Park at Gangaikondan in Tirunelveli District.
  • 11,894 Crores allocated for Agriculture Department.
  • 1,229 Crores allocated for Fisheries Department.
  • De-Salination Plants is going to be opened in Ramanathapuram and Villupuram Districts at the cost of 3,041 Crores.
  • New Industries will be opened under Tamilnadu Budding Industries. 75 Crores is allocated for this scheme.
  • 20,115.58 Crores is allocated for Department of Energy.
  • Survillance Cameras is going to be fixed in all Bus Stands of Tamilnadu at the cost of 75.02 Crores.
  • Capital Subsidies are going to be increased for new industries from 30 lakhs to 50 lakhs. 100 Crores is allocated for Capital Subsidies.
  • 15,850.54 Crores is allocated for State Highways Department.
  • In Ponneri aound 21,966 acres at Thiruvallur District Entrepreneurship Development Program is going to implemented.
  • 506 Crores is allocated for the First Generation School going students.
  • The Medical college affiliated to Annamalai University is to be undertaken by government and its going to be as Cuddalore District Medical College and Hospital.
  • 3,100 Crore is allocated as Share Capital aid, Debt Relief and Foreign Debt for Chennai Metro Rail project.
  • 5,052 Crore allocated for Higher Education Department.
  • 18,540.12 Crores allocated for Municipal Corporation Governance and Driking Water Supplies.
  • 100 Crores is allocated for Amma Unavagam Scheme.
  • 700 Crores is allocated for land for Cauvery-Kundaleru project.
  • 12.21 Crores allocated to set up International Level Excavator in Keezhadi.
  • 5-year Self-Sufficiency Program is called for Chief Minister`s Village Sustainability Development Program.
  • A Special package to promote tourism in Mamallapuram has been prepared at a cost of 563 Crores and is waiting for Central Government`s Approval.
  • A Separate section will be created for road safety in Highway sector. Road safety division will be established in Chennai, Madurai and Coimbatore Coporations.
  • 8 New Agricultural procession zones is going to be set up in Theni, Dindigul, Krishnagiri, Thiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Salem, Cuddlore and Madurai Districts.
  • Tamilnadu Working Women Hostels are going to be opened in 13 Places around Tamilnadu.
  • Central Government need to give 4,073 Crore GST Balance for Tamilnadu from 2017-18. The Balance Tax will be received in this financial year.
  • State Government share from the Central taxes has been affected greatly by tge unprecedented decline in the revised estimates for 2019-20.
  • The financial assistance for the repair and reconstruction of Christian Churches will be raised from 1 Crore to 5 Crores. Like wise for Muslim Mosques fund also be raised from 60 lakhs to 5 Crores.
  • New policy will be implemented for State Child Development.
  • The economic growth of Tamilnadu is expected to be 7.27% in 2019-20.
  • Efforts have been made to bring teaching of Tamil Language in Harvard and Houston Universities.
  • New Adult Support Centers will be setup in 37 districts at a cost of 37 lakhs.
  • Coimbatore Government Engineering college is going to complete its 75 years of service. 10 Crore is allocated for the infrastructure development.
  • 7,233 acres of land has been reclaimed and Patta`s are renamed in the name of concern temples.
  • Stamp Paper Tax is reduced from 1% to 0.25%.
  • Under the special public distribution scheme, smart card holders will soon be able to purchase goods at any ration shop across Tamilnadu.
  • 8,876 Crores is allocated for Police Department.
  • 74.08 Crores is allocated for Tamil Development Department.
  • 31.93 Crores is allocated for Tamilnadu Archaeological Department.
  • 1360.11 Crores is allocated for Disaster Management Department.
