The launch of the Central Monitoring Station in Chennai will ‘revolutionise security systems in India’ says EGB Ganesh Ekambaram, President and CEO of EGB Advanced Security System which will set up the Station.
‘The station will have a state-of-the-art control room and 24-hour response services to ensure against any security breach’, he said. ‘Complete with a foolproof system and power back-up, the system will work on an alarm trigger principle and is more sophisticated than the CCTV camera.
‘EGB is offering the security system for residential and commercial customers. We will install sensors and other equipment in the house. If an intruder or any suspicious movement is detected, the sensor will send an alarm signal that is transmitted via an active telephone line.
‘We have highly trained professional guards who will be stationed in various parts of the city to tackle any situation… The Central Monitoring Station would act as a link between the customer’s premises and emergency response authorities such as the police, the fire department, the medical assistance team and the private dispatch team. The operator will respond to the alert within 30-45 seconds and take necessary action to identify whether it’s a false alarm or not.’
