It has been announced that PAN card which has not been linked with Aadhar after 31st March will become invalid!
The Income Tax Department has further announced that plans are afoot to take stringent action on those who have failed to link PAN and Aadhar after 1st April.
At the same time, the Income Tax Department has also announced that in case the Taxpayers link PAN and Aadhar even after 31st March, PAN card would be valid.
It is a fact that this deadline for the link of Aadhar and PAN has been extended several times and thus the final deadline was fixed as 31st March.
Around 31 Crores PAN Cards have already been linked to Aadhar in India. Further, another 18 Crores PAN cards are to be linked.
The Income Tax Department has introduced the new fast facility to obtain a PAN card through online process. The PAN cardholders who have lost them or if the PAN cards are damaged, a new PAN card can also be obtained in this process.
This E-Pan card will be issued to the customer without any charge. This is done on the basis of the Aadhar card.
After verification of Aadhar card details, an SMS will be sent by the Income Tax Department to the mobile number of the applicant. Using this OTP (One-Time-Password), the applicant can verify the PAN card details. After verification and confirmation, the applicant can get the new E-PAN card.
As this is issued on the basis of Aadhar card, the particulars Photo, Name, Father’s Name, and address will be as per the Aadhar card given.
